Historically, the port of Brindisi is placed like the natural "gate" of reference for the relations with Greece, the Balkan area, Turkey and the orient basin of the Mediterranean for its happy geographic position and its physical characteristics. Currently it occupies, in the reticulum of the routes of the transnational corridors, one strategic position constituting cross-road of the adriatic corridor with that south European n.8 and therefore moment of interior trade of the relations north-south with that east-west. The railway connections are developed through the node of the station of Brindisi: with the north, along the director Bari - Bologna - Milano; with the Campania and the Calabria through Taranto, with Lecce and the Salento. The street connections coincide with the same routes: for the north, highway for Bari and then the A14; for the ionic and tirrenic regions, the SS7 until to Taranto, therefore the SS 106(ionic) towards the Calabria and the highway for Potenza towards Salerno and Naples./span>
